Meet Our Hosts
Dan P.
Dan is a native of Uxbridge and not only produces and hosts the Afternoon Drive, but is the General Manager of the station. Growing up in Uxbridge, Dan took the opportunity to expand out of small town living and work in the city. Dan has spent the majority of his career working in Toronto TV and radio. He’s been heard and seen on CBC radio and television, TSN, Sportsnet, Q-107, CFRB, 99.9, AM640 and the FAN 590. Although Dan developed his career outside of his hometown, Uxbridge never left his heart, raising his children here and also being involved in the community, volunteering his services to a number of charities along with serving on the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital Foundation, being President of the Uxbridge Minor Hockey Association, a Volunteer with the Uxbridge Fair Board, and a member of the 100 men who care. Opening doors for local charities and artists is an important part of local radio and is the reason Dan came home to be part of 105.5 HITS FM. Dan strives to keep the community informed and entertained with all things local to North Durham.
Mike L.
Mike graduated from the Seneca College Radio & Television Broadcasting course in the early 1980’s and during his last year at college landed a job at CFGM 1320 AM radio. Mike moved on in 1986 to join 1390 CHOO Country (which changed to KX-96 FM)as an on-air announcer to do the evening shift. Shortly thereafter he moved to handle the afternoon drive show and Music Director duties at that radio station and in 1989 was offered the morning show. In 1993 Mike left radio to take over the family AV business but returned to radio for a few years part-time in 2001 at KICX 104.1 FM in Barrie. After a chance meeting with Dan Pollard in Elgin Park on Canada Day in 2018, Mike joined the on-air team at 105.5 Hits FM to do the Saturday morning show. Although Mike has a passion for radio, he is also a musician (drums/guitar) and record producer/songwriter and spends a lot of time in his home recording studio making music. He produced local artist, Robyn Ottolini’s first album and co-wrote the title track “Open Doors & Fairy Tales” in 2014. Mike’s weaknesses are peanut butter and Chinese food although he never eats them both at that same time. Mike has lived on a horse farm in Uxbridge since 2000 with his wife Jodie, their 3 sons, 2 dogs, many horses & ponies, 2 chickens & their cat Cleopatra (who rules the household).
