Woman Killed, Child Seriously Injured After Crash

A woman is dead and a three-year old child is suffering life-threatening injuries after a three-car crash in Oshawa on Saturday night. It happened just before 10:30pm on Raglan Rd. west of Thornton Rd. Police say a grey Toyota SUV was westbound on Raglan when it sideswiped a Toyota Corolla heading the other direction. The driver of the SUV then lost control and spun into the path of a white Jeep Cherokee that was behind the Corolla. The driver, a 43-year old woman from Richmond Hill, was found without vital signs at the scene and was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. Her three-year old daughter was taken to Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto where she remains to receive treatment for her injuries. Several other people in the other vehicles involved suffered minor injuries. Police are asking anyone who may have new information to call Durham Regional Police Traffic Services Division or Crime Stoppers.
