A two-car crash in Brooklin has claimed the life of a 77-year old woman. The accident happened yesterday at about 11:30am when a sedan and van collided. The driver of the sedan was from Whitby; she died as a result. Two people in the van suffered minor injuries. A section of Highway 7 near Ferguson Av. was closed while emergency crews attended to the scene. According to police, roads were very wet at the time of the collision, but it is not yet known whether the conditions were a contributing factor.
