While a planned closure of Brock Street was cancelled this week for water main and other underground work, culvert project preparations continue. Ben Kester says the Region of Durham has set up traffic lights at the corner of Toronto and Main Streets, and they will throw the switch as soon as the barriers go up on Brock. Kester says work is almost complete on a creek diversion pipe to allow for the demolition of two downtown buildings.
