Uxbridge Budget Approved

The Township of Uxbridge has approved its budget for 2019. Operating expenditures are pegged at $16.4 million with capital expenditures of $27 million, of which $17.6 million is slated for the culvert project. On the Uxbridge portion of property taxes it means an additional $70 a year for an average residential property assessed at $525,000. The budget contains a number of capital projects but mayor Dave Barton says, other than the culvert project, they are not final and will need further review before they proceed further. The new animal control shelter which came in over budget is one item on hold; the mayor says everything on the animal shelter project is on the table as they look for a way to get it built within the budget framework.
