Unifor To Meet With GM

A face-to-face meeting is scheduled to be held in Detroit, Michigan today between Unifor National President Jerry Dias and officials from General Motors. The union is contesting GM's decision to shutter their Oshawa plant and shift production to Mexico. A Unifor petition for GM to continue operations in Oshawa is approaching 35,000 signatures. The union is also pressuring the provincial and federal governments to step in to the conversation.
