Party representation will remain mostly unchanged across our area as incumbents put forth a strong showing in yesterday's Federal Election results. Liberal Jennifer O'Connell was re-elected in Pickering-Uxbridge, taking an impressive 51% of the vote over her rivals. The north remains Tory blue, with Conservatives winning in York-Simcoe, Haliburton-Kawartha-Lakes-Brock, and Durham; the Liberals held on to seats in Scarborough-Rouge Park, Ajax, and Whitby. Markham-Stouffville MP Jane Philpott lost her seat to Liberal Helena Jaczek; Philpott was a former Liberal Health Minister who ran for re-election as an independent.
