Durham Regional Police would like to know why a teenage male approached a seven-year old playing at North Oshawa Park near Beatrice St. E. on Wednesday last week at about 4:30pm. The child was playing on a swing set when the teenager sat next to the youngster and showed him a $5 bill. The teen left and returned with a bicycle; the child was seen following him on a scooter. An adult who saw the interaction confronted the teen, then left the area. The child returned home unharmed. Police say the teenager is described as white, 14-18 years old, and was riding a black BMX bicycle. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Central East Division criminal investigation bureau.
