Suspects Wanted After Evading Police

Durham Regional Police are looking for two suspects after they failed to stop for police on Tuesday night in Ajax. A call was made by a female homeowner near Coomer Crescent and Chapman Drive at about 10:30pm, claiming that a known male and an unknown female forcibly entered her home armed with a knife and assaulted her; she was with three young children at the time. The suspects fled in a dark-coloured SUV; officers made an attempt to stop the vehicle on highway 401 westbound a short time later, but were unable to continue their pursuit for safety reasons. The female victim suffered minor injuries; the children were not injured. Police say the investigation is ongoing; anyone with new information is asked to contact West Division.
