Gunfire was reported following an incident in the parking lot of the Whitby Mall yesterday. It happened at about 2:30am when a man in a car fired several shots at the victim’s vehicle. The incident between the male suspect and the woman began at a Motel 6 in Whitby; she was followed after she pulled away. After her car was struck by several bullets she contacted police. The suspect is described as a black man who was armed with a handgun; anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers. A portion of the parking lot at Thickson Rd. and Dundas St. was cordoned off for the investigation.
