Durham Regional Police say a 39-year old man has been charged with sexual assault on a four-year old child at a Whitby home daycare. The investigation began after allegations were made involving sexual assault against the child between February and June of 2018 at the private daycare at a home on Catkins Crescent. Police say the man was a resident at the house at the time. Investigators are hoping to hear from other parents to ensure that there were no other victims. Christopher Benson is charged with invitation to sexual touching, sexual assault, indecent exposure, and making sexually explicit material available to a person under 14. Anyone with information relevant to the investigation is asked to contact police or CrimeStoppers.
