While the pump park is officially open at the Fields of Uxbridge work continues around it. This week crews will begin laying artificial turf in drainage areas and inside the bowl. Uxbridge Ward 4 Councillor Willie Popp says artificial turf made the most sense to cover the soil. The Councillor says sod had the potential for drying out and needing replacement during hot summers and maintaining it would mean closing the park down for crews to get in and do their work.
