A hazardous substance found near a former mini-mall in Oshawa prompted a response from Durham Regional Police and fire services yesterday. The discovery was made at 156 Simcoe St. S. A block of buildings were cordoned off for much of the day as well as the sidewalk between Lloyd St. and John St. The substance was found in a residential unit in the building. There have been no reports of any injuries, and the investigation continues.
