The votes are in, and Dave Barton is the new Mayor of Uxbridge. Carrying over 62% support, Barton topped Pat Malloy, who had stepped into the Mayor's Chair when Gerri Lynn O'Connor left for the Regional Chair position, and Diane Reilly. Barton says people talked about road safety when he was going door to door and being approachable. Barton says the culvert project was also a big topic and what can be done with the downtown core. Former councilor Gord Highet was elected Regional Councilor. Ward 1 went to incumbent Pam Beach; Ward 2 was a tight race won by Gary Ruona; Bruce Garrord was elected Ward 3 councilor; Willie Popp was elected in Ward 4; and Todd Snooks was elected in Ward 5
