Motorcyclist Suffers Serious Injuries

A 56-year old man from Toronto suffered serious injuries after he was thrown from his motorcycle following a collision. It happened on Thursday last week just before 7pm on Simcoe St. between Shirley Rd. and Concession Rd. 3 south of Port Perry. The man was northbound when he lost control of his motorcycle and landed in the east ditch as it continued into a farmer's field. He was transported to Lakeridge Health in Port Perry with serious but non-life threatening injuries, and later transferred by air ambulance to a Toronto trauma centre for further treatment. The roadway was closed for several hours to facilitate the investigation; anyone with new information about the collision is asked to contact North Division.
