A hefty investment will be made by the provincial government towards road repairs in Scugog Township. $725,000 in funding will be spent on fixing roads. Mayor Bobbie Drew said road conditions have been extremely challenging in recent months, with crews working hard to repair damage caused by a very wet fall and spring with numerous freeze-thaw cycles. More than $500,000 will go towards an excavator that will make ditching work more effective as road drainage is directly impacted by ditching. A portion of the money will also go towards technology that will help crews better respond to areas that are in poor condition.
