A 68-year old man from York Region was killed after being struck by a cement truck on the southbound 404 yesterday. It happened near Elgin Mills Rd. after the man got out of his vehicle for unknown reasons. He was taken to hospital with critical injuries then pronounced dead a short time later. The southbound lanes were shut down at Stouffville Rd. for several hours as police investigated.
