Impaired Charges With Grandson In Vehicle

A 54-year old woman faces impaired driving charges after a crash in Whitby on Monday night. The collision happened just before 8:30 at Athol and Dunlop Streets. The woman was driving an SUV when she crashed through a fence. When police arrived, she tried to drive away but was unable to do so because of damages to the vehicle. According to police her grandson, a 14-month old infant, was riding in the vehicle and taken to hospital with minor injuries. The woman was arrested and charged with impaired driving, driving while exceeding the legal blood-alcohol limit, and failing to remain.
