Humboldt Bronco Makes Fantastic Progress

One of the 13 Humboldt Broncos injured in last year’s tragic collision involving a truck driver and the team’s travel bus has made a staggering recovery. Ryan Straschnitzki, who was paralyzed from the chest down, has begun to move his legs after receiving some experimental surgery in Thailand. On Monday, doctors had implanted an epidural stimulator into his spine, reasoning that it could potentially restore some of his movement capabilities. Early tests show the young man is able to gingerly move his leg, and has already been asking to hit the gym. He’ll be remaining in Thailand until December.
