House Explosion In Whitby

Charges have been laid against a 48-year old man after police were called following reports of an explosion at a residence on Cedar Street before 3:30pm. Three men were injured and taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries; one of them, the suspect, was charged with arson, criminal negligence, and production under the Cannabis Act. Authorities say the explosion may have been caused by the ignition of a gas line. The charges against the accused have not been proven.
