Durham Regional Police say a 22-year old man was airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre with critical injuries after a head-on collision near Uxbridge yesterday. It happened just after 12 noon at Regional Road 47 and Owen Road. A 25-year old woman was also taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. The cause of the crash remains unknown. Local roads in the area were shut down for much of the day as police conducted the investigation.
