Funding Cut Reversal Good News For Uxbridge

Municipalities around Ontario are studying yesterday's announcement from Queen's Park reversing plans to retroactively cut funding to public health care, child care, and land ambulances. Township of Uxbridge Mayor Dave Barton, who also sits on Durham Region Council, says the move saves the Region from going into reserves to keep programs afloat. The Mayor says the cuts came after budgets had been set. The reversal allows Durham Region to look at it's next budget for efficiencies and ways to avoid cutting programs.
