Free Parking For Vets

November has arrived, and the City of Whitby is reminding veterans that they may park for free in on-street metered parking spaces and in municipal paid parking lots if their vehicle displays an Ontario veteran license plate. The by-law was established to recognize the contribution of veterans, along with a series of more than 80 banners featured in Brooklin and Whitby as part of the Honour Our Veterans legacy project. The initiative pays tribute to local veterans, active service members, and those now deceased by displaying photographs on lampposts every year between October 1st and November 12th.
