In Pickering, one man is dead after a shooting behind the Pickering Recreation Centre yesterday morning at around 6:30am. Durham Regional Police were called to the scene and found the victim with life-threatening injuries; he died on route to a nearby hospital. Officers said multiple shots were fired and there were reports of several suspects fleeing the area. There are currently no details on the suspects at this time, and the victim has yet to be identified. This is Durham Region’s third homicide of the year.
