It’s National Emergency Preparedness Week. Township of Uxbridge Fire Chief Phil Alexander says it’s a good time to put together a kit to be prepared to live for 72 hours. The kit should include four litres of water per day per person for drinking, cooking and cleaning. You should have food that won't spoil. Remember a manual can opener, a crank or battery powered flash light and radio, a first aid kit, some cash, and the fire chief says it’s important to be ready with items like medication if needed. Severe storms represent the most common threat today.
