Durham Regional Police have issued a statement in response to criticism following a Twitter post in which a user accused officers of excessive roughness during the arrest of a young person last month in Whitby. The video appears to show the youth being punched by an officer; according to police the 16-year old was not injured during his encounter with police. In the statement, Durham Police say the officers involved in the incident acted appropriately.
