Daycare Operator In Whitby Faces Charges

Durham Regional Police say a woman who operates a daycare in Whitby has been charged with criminal negligence after a child in her care was allegedly sexually assaulted last year. According to investigators it was a relative of the woman who ran the daycare who allegedly victimized a girl who was just four years old. The alleged assault happened between February and June of last year. The woman who runs the daycare was charged yesterday; last week, a 39-year old man who lived in the home where the daycare is run was arrested and charged with sexual assault, invitation to sexual touching, indecent exposure, and making sexually explicit material available to a child under the age of 14.
