Construction on the downtown culvert project in Uxbridge is on hold. Outgoing mayor Pat Malloy says as a result of design changes on the project the Township needed to acquire some easements on a piece of property. He says negotiations have been going on for months and at this time they are going to need to expropriate some property in order to continue. Malloy says the recent municipal election complicated matters because of the restrictions placed on the outgoing council to negotiate. Changes to the budget or offers of more than $50,000 can be made when the new council is sworn in in December.
