Crash Kills Motorcyclist

Authorities have released the identity of a man who died in a motorcycle crash in Oshawa on Saturday. The accident occurred just after 12:30pm near Simcoe St. N. and Beatrice St. E. The driver of a red Kawasaki motorcycle, 24-year old Justin Jones of Oshawa, was travelling south when he collided with a silver Dodge Caravan that was exiting a parking lot. The motorcycle struck the driver side of the van causing serious injuries to the driver of the motorcycle, who was rushed to Lakeridge Health Oshawa where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the van was not injured and remained on scene. Simcoe St. was closed for several hours for the investigation; so far, no charges have been laid.
