Boating Crash Victim From Uxbridge

Two victims killed in a fatal boat crash Saturday night on Lake Joseph have been identified; 64-year old Gary Poltash from Florida, and 48-year old Susanne Brito from Uxbridge. Brito was a mother of three and an active member of the community. She was kept on life support after the accident so her organs could be harvested, then died in hospital on Monday. Uxbridge Mayor Dave Barton released a statement saying Brito's energy and enthusiasm will be missed by all who knew her. Her children are 13, 11 and 9; she also leaves behind a brother, sister, and her parents. Visitation will be held Friday evening at the Low and Low Funeral Home in Uxbridge; her funeral will be held Saturday at 11am at Sacred Heart Church. The collision occurred at around 11:30pm near Emerald Island in the Parry Sound area. TV personality and businessman Kevin O'Leary has confirmed he was a passenger on one of the boats. An investigation is being conducted by the OPP's Northeast Regional Crime Unit, Support Team, Forensic Identification Services, and Technical Marine Collision Unit.
