Authorities have confirmed that a man from Oshawa was found dead on Sunday evening after his aluminum boat capsized while fishing. 36-year old Jeffrey Daniel St. Cyr was on McCaslim Lake east of Haliburton with two friends; police say there was appropriate safety equipment on board but none of the passengers were wearing flotation gear. Two of the passengers were able to use a life jacket floating on the water to get safely to shore; St. Cyr went under the water and never resurfaced. His body was located by the OPP's underwater search and recovery unit.
