Back-To-Back Impaired Charges

A man from Whitby has been charged with impaired driving twice in two days, with one incident allegedly happening with his children in the vehicle. The father in his 40's was stopped by Durham Regional Police after reportedly driving his pickup truck while impaired, with three kids ages 9 through 14 inside. After blowing over three times the legal limit, he was arrested and charged, his truck was impounded, his license suspended, and he was released from custody on a promise to appear. 19 hours later, police say the same man was stopped after driving a different vehicle, and again blew over three times the legal limit. He is awaiting a bail hearing; his name is being withheld to protect the identity of his children.
