Alleged Hotel Room Robbery In Beaverton

Durham Regional Police say an elderly man was robbed Sunday morning in his Beaverton hotel room. The alleged incident occurred just after 8:30 when a 29-year old woman knocked on the door of the 86-year old hotel patron. According to reports, he opened the door and she pushed past him, saying she needed to use the washroom. As he tried to make her leave, the accused pushed the victim down and robbed him of personal belongings, then fled the scene in a waiting vehicle. The victim received minor injuries. The vehicle was spotted a short distance away, and the woman was arrested without incident. Trisha Cook of Simcoe St. in Brock has been charged with robbery and failure to comply with probation; she was held for a bail hearing. The charges against her have not been proven. Anyone with new information in regards to the alleged incident is asked to contact the North Division Criminal Investigations Bureau.
