Abandoned Resort Building Destroyed

A resort property on Scugog Island was destroyed after a suspected grass fire early yesterday morning. Fire crews arrived at the former Seven Mile Island Resort just before 6am to find the abandoned building ravaged by flames. The former restaurant was located on the western edge of the island and had no services running to it. The historical site dates back to the 1800's, and was owned by the Mississauga's of Scugog Island First Nation.
