Donald Trump's tariff threats following last weekend's G7 Summit in Quebec have area farmers on alert. Canada's dairy marketing system protects farmers with a 270% tariff. Due to the difference in size of farms in the U.S. and Canada the system protects the livelihood of farmers here. Mike Manjuris, Chair of Global Management Studies at Ryerson University, says there is more to the tariffs then just protecting the farmer; its protecting our way of life. Manjuris says Trump's strategy is a political one as he looks to shore up votes in Wisconsin where dairy farmers are affected by the tariffs. You can hear Mike Manjuris every Tuesday around 8:30 on the Morning Den.
