Several charges were laid against an Oshawa man yesterday after he pulled out a replica handgun in downtown Oshawa. It happened at around 2am, when Durham Regional Police were called for reports of a disturbance in the area of King St. E. and Celina St. The 21-year old man was allegedly involved in a confrontation when he pulled the imitation firearm from his waistband and began issuing threats. One officer was shoved by the suspect when police arrived. His charges include assaulting police and pointing a firearm.
