Two frontline officers from Central East Division on routine patrol last Thursday night decided to check out reports of drug activity in the area of Albert Street and Phillips Street in Oshawa. They located two unconscious men in their late 20's inside an abandoned landscaping truck. The men were not dressed appropriately for the cold conditions and the windows in the truck had been smashed out. There was a small fire smoldering under one of the men. Fire and EMS were called to the scene. Two additional police officers arrived and they were able to remove one of the men from the vehicle to an awaiting ambulance. Naloxone was administered and the man was revived. The jaws of life were required to remove the second man. Both males were taken to hospital and are expected to survive.
