A horrific house fire erupted at a multi-resident dwelling in Oshawa yesterday, claiming the lives of four people. 36-year old Lindsay Bonchek and her two children, nine-year old Madeline and four-year old Jackson, were among those who perished in the blaze. A fourth victim, 50-year old Steven MacDonald, was also trapped inside and is presumed dead. The fire broke out just after 8am at the home on Centre Street North and Colborne Street West. Oshawa Fire Services is calling it one of the worst events the city has seen in years. The two-story dwelling was believed to house approximately eleven people. The Ontario Fire Marshall is investigating the cause of the fire.
