A 29-year old man from Courtice has been sentenced to two years in prison for robbing three banks in a four-day span in April of 2016. Joshua Cobierski pleaded guilty and expressed remorse for his actions. The robberies occurred at banks in Oshawa, Newcastle, and Bowmanville. He made no attempts to disguise his face and was caught on security cameras each time. No weapons were used, and no one was injured during the incidents. The judge also urged him to receive counselling for a drug-addiction problem that led to his downfall.
