College Faculty Members on Strike

The 12:01am deadline for OPSEU and the College Employer Council to reach a deal was not met this morning, which means that classes are cancelled for more than 500,000 students today, including at Durham College. All classes at the Oshawa and Whitby campuses and the Pickering learning centre, including apprenticeships, are cancelled, while the continuing education courses will continue to run. Picket lines will be set up until 6pm today, with security present at the entrances to each building. The school has ensured students that it will do everything possible to provide opportunities for them to achieve their learning goals while they look to resolve the labour disruption.
