Some troubling findings were released in a study published this week in the Canadian Medical Association Journal. According to the report, an average of one young person or child is injured from a firearm every day in Ontario. Researches analyzed hospital records and found that of the 355 firearm injuries per year, about one quarter of them resulted in fatalities. Among unintentional injuries, kids in rural areas were most likely to suffer a firearm injury. It was also discovered that immigrant children were less likely to be injured than children who were long-term residents.
