The City of Oshawa is mourning the sudden passing of Nancy Diamond. The Regional and City
Councilor spent more then three decades in public service to the City, being first elected to City Council in 1988. Diamond was Oshawa's Mayor from 1991 to 2003, before returning to Regional and City Council for a second stint in 2010. She was also a longtime community volunteer, and her involvement with numerous clubs earned her the YWCA's Women of Distinction Award. A
condolence book is available for signing at Oshawa's City Hall, and funeral arrangements are expected to be made soon. Flags at City facilities and Durham Regional headquarters have been lowered to half mast.
