Uxbridge's new Fire Chief has been on the job just a few days, and he's already earning praise as he settles into his new post. Phil Alexander is expected to pick up right where outgoing Chief Scott Richardson left off, who stepped aside on January 1st. Alexander has more than 30 years of service as an Uxbridge fire fighter, and also held a seven-year stint as Deputy Fire Chief in Markham. The Chief says he has tremendous confidence in the current staff and he feels honoured to assume the new role. Lots of changes are expected as finishing touches are made to the new fire hall, and discussions are taking place about a bigger facility that can better accommodate training.
